Burdwan Institute of Medical & Life Sciences (BIMLS) is one of the reputed professional institutes run by a voluntary organization of Oriental Association for Education & Research (OAER). At present the society of OAER is running four institutes –

1. Burdwan Institute of Medical & Life Sciences (BIMLS)

   Courses Offered : Undergraduate Courses – Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T.) 4½ years, M.P.T. Orthopedics, M.P.T. Neurology, M.P.T. Sports Medicine.

2. Burdwan Institute of Management & Computer Science (BIMS)

   Courses Offered : Hons. In BBA, BCA and B.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry affiliated to The University of Burdwan

3. Burdwan Model School

   CBSE affiliated KG level to Class-X, eventually the school will be upto Class-XII.

4. Oriental Institute of Science and Technology (OIST)

   Courses Offered : B.Sc. in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, P.Hd in bioscience.

BIMLS was set up in the year 2001 as a joint venture between the University of Burdwan and Burdwan Institute of Management and Computer Science, professionals in different fields coming together to espouse a noble cause of providing quality education in the field of physiotherapy. It is a pioneer institution to introduce 4 ½ years Bachelor of Physiotherapy program in West Bengal. First Institution in West Bengal to start with Master Degree in the field of Physiotherapy. Today BIMLS has become a name synonymous with quality education. The institution has successfully seen through eleven batches of undergraduates and seven batches of postgraduate students since its inception.
